Mallorcan light has a distinctive quality: sun sits higher than on Costa Brava or Costa Blanca, meaning slightly shorter but warmer blue hour, with golden tones reminiscent of Tuscany without the crowds. Tramuntana light at sunset is especially cinematic.

Best photo spots in Mallorca
Cap de Formentor: northern tip, vertical cliffs over deep blue sea. Free access, best at sunrise (5:50-7:30 in June).
Sa Foradada (Deià): the "pierced rock". 30-minute downhill hike from Son Marroig. Sunset 19:30-20:45 May through August.
Valldemossa: ochre stone village in heart of Tramuntana. Carrer Blanquerna and Plaça del Pare Cerdà offer cinematic settings.
Es Trenc (south): Caribbean-style virgin beach. No permit for small groups.
